See what your photo reveals.

Check a photo for GPS location, date, device and camera details before you share it, then save a copy without them. Everything happens in your browser.

How it works: your browser reads the file locally with JavaScript, lists the EXIF fields it finds and can re-save the image without them. Nothing is uploaded. Re-saving re-encodes the JPEG at high quality.

What photo metadata can reveal

iPhone photos can store the GPS coordinates where they were taken, the date and time, the device model and lens, and editing software. When you send the original file, by email, AirDrop or some messaging apps, that information can travel with it.

How to remove location from photos on iPhone

In the share sheet, tap Options at the top and turn off Location before sending. To stop recording location entirely, go to Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services, Camera and choose Never. VaultBolt strips location and device data by default whenever a file leaves the vault.
