The problem we kept hearing
Ask people where their private photos are and the honest answer is "everywhere". In the camera roll between holiday snaps. In Recently Deleted, for 30 days after you thought you'd removed them. On the family iPad, because iCloud Photos synced them.
Existing vault apps help a little. You still scroll through thousands of photos to find the private ones, the app copies them in, and the originals stay put. Many vaults also show ads or ask for your email first.
What VaultBolt does differently
- It finds them for you. An on-device scan groups intimate photos, IDs, cards and screenshots of passwords. Nothing leaves your iPhone.
- It moves instead of copies. The zero-copies clean-up deletes originals, empties Recently Deleted and checks iCloud Photos, then tells you: 0 copies left.
- It encrypts everything on the device, with AES-256-GCM and keys bound to your iPhone's Secure Enclave.
- It's honest under pressure. A decoy vault and duress code protect you when someone forces you to open the app.
- It asks for nothing. No account, no email, no ads, ever.
What it looks like
Warm on the outside, solid on the inside. The app is calm and ordinary-looking, with a neutral icon and plain notifications. No skulls, no padlocks and chains, no "military-grade".
